information of the artist in this art exhibition

Barbara Hope Steinberg was born in Philadelphia in 1943. From a very young age, she spent evenings and weekends studying in various art schools in the city, eventually being awarded both art and academic scholarships to Smith College in Massachusetts. Whilst at Smith, she won a scholarship to the Yale University Summer School of Art and Music. On graduating, she received a grant to study sculpture in England, with Ralph Brown at the West of England College of Art, then privately with Michael Ayrton in London. She returned briefly to America, to teach sculpture and take a Master of Fine Arts Degree at California State University at Long Beach.

Steinberg returned to live permanently in London. After spending some twenty years making sculpture, she returned to painting. She has exhibited in many group shows throughout the UK, and has had several solo exhibitions including solo shows at the Signal Gallery, from 2007 until 2014.

From 2017 to 2019 she became increasingly interested in Crows and produced over thirty paintings on this theme. As the Covid 19 pandemic struck she switched to a new series of paintings, In Time of Plague. From January 2022, she has been working on the theme of For a World on Fire.

…these paintings are totally; unique and demonstrate the artist’s depth of natural talent and sharp intellectual understanding of colour and tone. It was my great pleasure to visit Barbara in her London studio, where we discussed the possibility of exhibiting the work.

The History of Virtual Reality painters TUBES galleries

painters TUBES magazine first researched Virtual Reality Art Galleries in 2007. At that time the world of the VR art gallery was in its infancy. The software was  derived from the same code that was originally written for computer games  (the Unity code being the best known). However the results were somewhat ‘clunky’ as the processing power inside most people’s PC’s simply could not manage to provide smooth transitions ,(when moving around the VR space). And smooth transitions was the key to ensuring that VR Art Galleries would be seen as a serious player in the contemporary art public market and the contemporary art world in general. As time and code and processing power improved dramatically, the code writers for VR Art Galleries became more adventurous. Painters TUBES followed severalcompanies and encouraged them by purchasing the new VR spaces.

One of the first to be recognised as providing an acceptable public VR platform was based in New Zealand. The fact that he and his partner were Artists helped with the design of the four spaces they launched, as early as 2012. And painters TUBES was on the front foot to secure the space for the planned expansion of painters TUBES magazine into a showcase for painters. From 2017 to 2019 painters TUBES mounted and curated a number of VR shows. One in particular that secured a bricks and mortar exhibition in a public Museum & Art Gallery for two artists in North West England.

By late 2019 painters TUBES became convinced that VR Art Galleries would play animportant part in the promotional aspect of accomplished artists work and asa showcase for gifted painters who had not had the opportunity for their work to seen by a wider audience. painters TUBES magazine, since its beginning in 2015 was attracting huge online numbers with a bimonthly publication. By 2020 that audience was over 200,000 with the bulk of the readers in the UK, the USA and the Northern states in Europe. With the prospect of the expansive marketplace opening further due the ‘pandemic’ conditions in 2020, painters TUBES magazine commissioned a code writers cooperative in two companies in Europe to create a space which was to reflect painters TUBES Skandinavian influenced design principles and also to indicate the office physical location in Sweden. email: Painters TUBES magazine
